Certification bootcamps

Bootcamps combine accelerated learning, practical experience, and networking. Materials used in each course may include eLearning, instructor-led sessions, lectures from field experts, case study solutions, role playing as a customer, the development and presentation of a project, and final certification exams.

Certification is awarded to participants that obtain a passing grade in the certification exams.

  • OpenText certifications are valid for 3 years.
  • Renewal of an expired certification requires completion of the current exam.
  • Renewal of a certification is available at a 50% discount off the list price until the certification expires.

Exam access period

Once exam enrollment has been confirmed, it will appear in 'My Courses & Learning Paths' on the OpenText Learning Platform. This is where you will launch the exam. You must take the certification exam within 60 days of launching it. Plan accordingly and only launch the exam once you are fully prepared to take it. This ensures you can write it within the 60-day access period.

Writing the exam

Once you start the exam, it must be completed in one session. You cannot pause and resume later.

Exam Duration

The time limit for the exam varies by exam, typically ranging from 1 to 3 hours. The exact time is specified in each exam description.

  • All in-class certification programs will be supervised by an OpenText approved instructor or facilitator.
  • Certification exams can have course and/or other certification pre-requisites. OpenText strongly recommends completion of pre-requisite courses before attempting a certification. Pre-requisite certifications are mandatory.
  • The candidate must score at least 70 to 80% (depending on the specific exam) to pass.
  • Disclosure of exam content and other acts of misconduct during or after the certification are strictly prohibited. If such an act occurs, the certification will not be awarded or may be revoked.
  • Reference materials for Open Book certification exams are not included as part of a certification exam registration. OpenText Learning Services reference materials need to be obtained through participation in recommended OpenText prerequisite courses or through an OpenText Learning Subscription.

  • If a candidate fails their first attempt to pass any certification exam, OpenText does not require any waiting period between the first and second attempts. However, the candidate shall be required to wait a period of at least 14 days before a third or any subsequent attempt(s). One attempt is included with each certification exam purchase. Second and subsequent attempt(s) need to be purchased separately.
  • Participants who pass an exam cannot take the exam again to improve their results. No 'make-up' exams are permitted.

  • Digital badges are widely used in the technology industry as a verifiable, visual indicator of an individual’s knowledge, skills, and competencies. They provide an easy and powerful way for you to promote your accomplishments through online and social sites and for others to verify their authenticity. Increasingly, employers are looking for proof of qualifications when hiring and promoting.
