Cad-Capture’s Asset Information Management (AIM) tool-set provides the ability to Extract, Correct, Collate and Activate the Asset Tag information within engineering documentation. This means users can add value to the information held on their Assets by vastly improving the quality of, and access to, Asset Tag details. The Cad-Capture AIM suite consists of Asset Xtractor and CaptureVue HotSpots and can update and operate with both OpenText’s Content Server and eDOCS ECM.

CaptureVue from Cad-Capture provides full view and mark-up capabilities for over 300 different file formats – including the most common 2D & 3D native CAD formats. Integrating directly into Content Server and eDOCS DM this means that you can distribute, print, comment on and approve complex engineering drawings and documents securely within the OpenText ECM environment.

Cad-Capture also has a full engineering suite for eDOCS DM which consists of CaptureVue for eDOCS DM, CaptureLink for AutoCAD and Microstation, CAD CD Import, CAD CD Export and AIM suite – including Asset Xtractor. The eDOCS engineering suite allows for the import, export, creation, update and approval of native 2D and 3D CAD files, PDF drawings and engineering documentation within eDOCS DM. With the ability to view thumbnails of all types of documents – including 2D and 3D CAD files, and create/update native CAD files within eDOCS – the eDOCS engineering suite can do away with the need for a separate system to manage engineering files and thus allows an organisation to manage all of its documents within one enterprise wide ECM system.

CaptureVue HotSpots also allows the barriers between structured and unstructured information to be removed by allowing documents and information to be accessed from other systems, such as ERP, asset management and other ECM systems, with one click via the automatic, dynamic HotSpots that CaptureVue can create in the drawings and documents held within eDOCS DM.
