REPCO NEX Industrial SolutionsMaintenance and operations support provider brings its world-class asset management services to new regions with OpenText Documentum

Part of SCG Chemicals—one of the largest integrated petrochemical companies in Asia—REPCO NEX Industrial Solutions provides critical maintenance and operations support to more than 20 leading manufacturing facilities across Asia.
With 30 years of experience supporting asset-intensive operations, the company is on a mission to bring its expertise in asset performance management to more sectors in Thailand and beyond.
Warit Krittaphol, commercial director at REPCO NEX, explained, “Our goal is to help our clients grow their production capacity sustainably and cost-efficiently. By investing in innovative technologies like AI, we can help our manufacturing clients embrace cutting-edge ways of working, improve performance and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.”
REPCO NEX monitors over 5,000 critical assets in manufacturing facilities throughout Asia—a huge task that generates massive amounts of data and documentation. To scale its operations effectively, it is crucial that employees in different REPCO NEX business units can collaborate efficiently and securely.
Pairote Phruethiworakulchai, asset information management system (AIMS) expert at REPCO NEX, said, “As our business grew, our previous approach to AIMS was slowing us down. We were using multiple document management systems, which made it difficult to find key information quickly. It was also hard to see which teams were responsible for updating documents, so sharing information became increasingly time-consuming.”
Many of REPCO NEX’s documents—from engineering designs to operational plans—contain sensitive intellectual property, making it vital that information is stored securely while also being easily accessible to approved users.
Phruethiworakulchai continued, “To support business growth, we looked to eliminate document-management bottlenecks. At the same time, we took the opportunity to enhance our document controls, ensuring they meet government regulations and our own stringent trade-secrets protocols and policies.”

By establishing streamlined, standardized and efficient AIMS processes with OpenText solutions, we’ve achieved an average productivity improvement of 30%. In some departments, we’ve even seen productivity increase by up to 60%.
To boost productivity and efficiency, REPCO NEX built a unified AIMS solution based on OpenText™ Documentum™ and OpenText™ Documentum™ for Asset Operations, integrated with industry solutions from AVEVA, a leading industrial software provider.
Meet high-volume content management challenges
Control documentation and automate workflows for plant operations and maintenance
The new solutions provide a single source of truth for all asset management activities while ensuring robust data governance processes for sensitive documentation.
Phruethiworakulchai said, “It was very straightforward to integrate the OpenText solutions with our third-party applications. We are also impressed with the ‘working copy’ capability in OpenText Documentum, which makes it much easier to keep track of different versions of documents and drawings—even when multiple users are editing a document at the same time. We can now quickly hand over documents between teams and users, streamlining collaboration.”
Working with OpenText, REPCO NEX deployed the solutions as a unified AIMS portal and configured Documentum to act as the company’s central document management system (DMS). The platform enables consolidated document workflows, seamless file sharing, strong security and user access controls as well as powerful indexing and OCR capabilities.
“OpenText went the extra mile during the implementation,” said Phruethiworakulchai. “For example, OpenText helped us to redefine our document workflows and configure the new solutions to meet the unique requirements of the manufacturing sector. We had a dedicated support contact at OpenText available at a moment’s notice, and they helped us solve issues quickly.”
OpenText helped us to redefine our document workflows and configure the new solutions to meet the unique requirements of the manufacturing sector. We had a dedicated support contact at OpenText available at a moment’s notice, and they helped us solve issues quickly.
By stepping up its AIMS activities with OpenText, REPCO NEX has dramatically improved productivity. And with the ability to open and edit almost any file type and share data seamlessly, the company has improved efficiency and enhanced version control.
REPCO NEX has measured significant productivity improvements, helping employees at the company add value to the business and drive growth.
Phruethiworakulchai commented, “By establishing streamlined, standardized and efficient AIMS processes with OpenText Documentum solutions, we’ve achieved an average productivity improvement of 30%. In some departments, we’ve even seen productivity increase by up to 60%. Ultimately, this helps our teams to handle a higher volume of work while eliminating tedious, manual processes from their daily workloads.”
Krittaphol added, “So far, we can open and edit most of the file types that we encounter, including computer-aided design [CAD] files stored in Documentum. This helps to enhance productivity as teams no longer need to spend time finding the right tool to open the files they need. Instead, they can simply open the file and begin working, then package them up and share them with their colleagues for rapid onward processing.”
Moving to OpenText Documentum solutions has also unlocked significant infrastructure savings for REPCO NEX.
“We anticipate that we have reduced our infrastructure costs by up to 50% with OpenText and AIMS on REPCO NEX Cloud,” Phruethiworakulchai confirmed. “These savings allow us to invest in growing our presence in our domestic market and beyond—keeping us on track to achieve our business goals.”
Looking ahead, REPCO NEX plans to roll out OpenText solutions to other areas of its business and double-down on innovation.
“We’ve got big plans to further enhance our AIMS activities,” concluded Phruethiworakulchai. “In the future, we aim to combine AI and automation to deliver predictive maintenance services to our clients—boosting the availability of their assets. Our OpenText Documentum solutions will play a key role in making this possible, and we look forward to building on the strong success we’ve achieved so far.”
