Course Description

This course is intended for developers in Content Server intending to leverage the REST API and/or Content Web Services as part of their Content Server solution. This three-day class covers using and extending both the REST API and Content Web Services using the CSIDE plug-in for Eclipse. Students will also use and extend Service Data Objects.

Highlights:

• Use the service-oriented API components of the Content Server SDK
• Use the OScript perspective in the CSIDE plug-in of Eclipse to develop solutions
• Use the REST API for testing purposes and in a sample page
• Extend the REST API with new stateless functionality
• Build sample client code for using Content Web Services
• Use the data structures of an existing Content Web Service
• Create a Service Data Object
• Create a Content Web Service that uses a Service Data Object

On completion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Identify where the Content Server SDK fits into the overall Content Server product.
• List the operations of the REST API
• Navigate the OpenText REST API implementation page
• Test the REST API with a browser extension
• Use the REST API in a simple page
• Extend the REST API to include a custom resource
• Describe how to import the sample CWS code
• Describe the steps required to connect the client software with the appropriate Web services
• Navigate an existing Content Web Service
• Use the data structures provided by a CWS
• Create a Service Data Object
• Create and code a Content Web Service
