This course covers configuring OpenText Software Delivery Management (Octane) for administrative tasks.

Overview

This course is designed for Business Administrators to configure and manage settings across OpenText Software Delivery Management efficiently. It empowers users to tailor workflows and permissions to align with organizational needs.

The training comprises theory and practical sessions, during which participants will gain hands-on experience in setting up workspaces, defining business rules, customizing fields, and managing user roles.

  • Learn about miscellaneous Space Admin tasks - Recycle bin, Activity log.
  • Learn to populate a workspace with demonstration data.
  • Describe pre-defined roles in Software Delivery Management.
  • Learn to configure pre-defined roles.
  • User Management - Add and delete users, add existing users to a workspace, assign licenses, activate or deactivate a user, and map users to SCM users.
  • Learn data access control in Software Delivery Management.
  • Provide language support for the OpenText™ Software Delivery Management interface.
  • Manage waste in Value Stream Management (VSM) to enhance resource utilization.
  • Create email templates for each entity, including tailored headers, footers, and security tags.
  • Create release process.
  • Define Stage in the release process.
  • Define Action in the release process.
  • Define Quality gate and its criteria.
  • Create and edit a team.
  • Assigning teams to releases and programs.
  • Adjusting a team's expected velocity per sprint.
  • Associate team calendar.
  • Create Custom fields and forms.
  • Create dynamic labels.
  • Create public favorite links.
  • Configure operational behavior of various components using configuration parameters.
  • Detect anomalous items to mitigate delays in the development cycle.
  • Enable purging by configuring the necessary parameters as a site/space administrator.

Prerequisites


1-5620-Software Delivery Management Essentials, or equivalent practical experience with OpenText Software Delivery Management.
