Course Description

Overview

The CSIDE Fundamentals course for OpenText Content Management provides an in-depth understanding of the functionality of CSIDE: the application development component of the OpenText Content Management SDK. You will learn how to customize an application for OpenText Content Management, including both the underlying functionality and the web interface, with overviews of the REST API and Smart View architecture.

Highlights:

• Create modules to package customizations for easy installation and upgrades
• Write code using OScript, OpenText Content Management’s programming language

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Create request handlers to process new functionality
• Add new types of items (nodes) for OpenText Content Management to store and manage
• Add new interface components and modify the current interfaces
• Integrate code into the OpenText Content Management object system in supported ways

Prerequisites

• 1-0184: Managing Documents in OpenText Content Management
• 1-0185: Collaborating in OpenText Content Management
• 3-0127: OpenText Content Management Schema and Report Fundamentals
• Programming knowledge and experience (especially object-oriented languages such as Java or C++)
• Application development knowledge and experience
• Basic knowledge of HTML for web interface customization
• Strong knowledge of the OpenText Content Management interface and functionality
