Course Description

Overview

This two-day course is for Extended ECM Business Administrators who need to optimize user search environments and features. The course begins with an introduction to how users typically perform searches. Then, it covers how to enable search features that impact the user search experience, such as creating system search forms for all users and custom perspectives with search widgets for Smart View users. Projects at the end of the course provide a valuable opportunity to practice interpreting business needs, determining search requirements, and implementing search widgets for Smart View users.

• Identify the components and processes used for indexing and searching
• Restart a data flow process
• Describe the difference between Search Forms and Search Queries, and Personal versus System Search Forms
• Create System Search Forms
• Use the Perspective Manager to create and edit perspectives
• Add the standard Search Query Results widget to a perspective
• Create a Custom View Search widget based on a specific query and add it to a perspective
