Program Management

Streamline the launch and operation of new programs and projects

Your Challenge

In today's competitive market, companies need to make the most out of all of their resources to introduce new products to market ahead of the competition or to complete capital projects on budget and on time. Organizations need a system that helps to manage the complexity of large projects—a program management system that automates a project's people, process, and content across the entire enterprise.

Benefits

  • Achieve higher success rates for programs and projects
  • Reduce costs and optimize resources
  • Reduce duplicated efforts
  • Improve productivity
  • Eliminate risk

Features

  • Leverage program-specific functions: Access Tags, Gates, Team, Processes, Action Items and Issues from the Program workspace.
  • Create process templates: Define formal processes as templates that new projects in the organization must follow. Process templates can be specified to enable multiple stages to occur simultaneously, or required to occur sequentially.
  • Structure processes with stages and gates: Project tasks are organized according to stages and gates. Stages are instances of task processes, and gates are instances of review processes. Stages and gates are paired and an object-search task stage is accompanied by a review gate.
  • Add multiple tasks to stages: Each stage can have multiple tasks assigned to it. For example, an "Idea Formulation" stage could consist of several tasks, such as "Conduct Market Research." Each task has a duration and required deliverables, such as 5 days to deliver a market research summary document. Tasks can also be assigned sub-tasks, or specified as dependant on other tasks.
  • Specify detailed review processes: A gate object is paired with each stage object. For example, the Idea Formulation stage could be paired with an Idea Screen review session for the stakeholders to determine if any of the ideas generated are appropriate for the company. Gates can be assigned durations and deliverables as well.
  • Specify rights and roles: Specify rights and roles to control which users can access a Program project.
  • Import and export processes: Program Management's robust XML support enables you to import and export program objects in XML. You can also import Microsoft Project plans into Program Management.
