4331 Vignette Collaboration: Customizing Templates and Applications
Duration: 2 Days
This course demonstrates how to customize the Collaboration user interface, extend out of the box functionality, and build Collaborative applications. It also examines customization maintainability, short cuts, and best practices.
Each participant is provided with his or her own Collaboration 7.2 environment. Using the Collaboration Template Engine, students learn how and when to use assorted tag methods, expressions and variables to develop customized templates. Participants also gain hands-on experience building custom objects, business processes, workspace templates, and collaborative applications – and are introduced to the topic of internationalization.
By the end of the course you will learn how to:
- Describe the Collaboration architecture and object model
- Define key terms and concepts associated with template development
- Explain the role of the Template Engine
- Use all tags, including those used for new tagging, retention and auditing policies
- Extend base product functionality through template customization
- Customize the look and feel of Collaboration 7.2
- Build custom Collaboration workspace templates
- Develop custom objects and applications using the Custom Type Factory
- Build a business process definition
- Localize the Collaboration user interface

Audience:
This course is intended for those responsible for the creation and manipulation of templates and UIs.
Prerequisites:
Familiarity with HTML and basic understanding of object-oriented programming concepts is recommended.
