2252 Fax over IP (FoIP) Fundamentals – Workshop

Duration: 4 Hours

Identify what types organizations may benefit from FoIP; Speak knowledgeably about T.38 and other FoIP standards; Define the components of a FoIP installation and how they communicate; Install and configure the Dialogic® SR140 Fax Software (SR140) on a RightFax server; Fax via between RightFax with the SR140 and the Dialogic® Brooktrout® Fax and Voice Diagnostic Tool for Windows (GUI Diag); and Describe the H.323, SIP, and MGCP protocols, how they differ and how they are used in FoIP.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify the kinds of companies that can benefit the most from FoIP.
  • Speak knowledgeably about T.38 and other FoIP standards.
  • Define the components of a FoIP installation and how they communicate.
  • Install and configure the Dialogic® Brooktrout® SR140 Fax Software (SR140) on a RightFax server.
  • Fax via between RightFax with the SR140 and the Dialogic® Brooktrout® Fax and Voice Diagnostic Tool for Windows (GUI Diag).
  • Describe the H.323, SIP, and MGCP protocols, how they differ and how they are used in FoIP.
  • Use Wireshark to trace and graph a T.38 session.
  • Discern whether the SR140 is tested and supported for a company’s existing gateways, call agents, gatekeepers, and RightFax versions.

Technical Sales, RightFax System and PBX Administrators, Product implementers and Help Desk personnel.

Prerequisites:

Working knowledge of RightFax server software and some knowledge of Telephony concepts.
