511 Web Solutions - Content Distribution Service

This course is designed to provide a fundamental overview of the Open Text Web Solutions Content Distribution Server (CDS). Architecture and functionalities are being presented including various implementation scenarios and best practices. Attendees will learn how to install, configure and administrate the CDS. Additionally, each participant will gain hands-on experience with technical basics of using the Content Distribution Service.
This course can be booked as a standardized 2-day class or as a one-day PowerWorkshop combined with one or more service days to support local installations.
The successful completion of this course does not qualify the attendee for hotline support.

- Discussion and evaluation of different CDS scenarios, incl. clustering
- Installation, configuration, backup and recovery

- CDS pull and push transfer modes
- Best practice in content pool structuring and meta element definition

Prerequisites:
The successful completion of one of the courses „500 – Web Solutions Management Server – Project Manager“ or „501 – Web Solutions Management Server – Project Builder“ or „502 – Web Solutions Management Server – Project Builder & Workshop“ is advised for better understanding.
