440 Architecture Workshop

This highly technical workshop examines OpenText Content Server from an architectural and security point of view. It examines all of the certified - and some common but not certified - solutions from monolithic installations to highly available clusters. All aspects of the service are examined, from the network and network services to the database and file system resources. Sizing and scalability of Content Server architectures are also reviewed. Both Windows-based and Unix-based solutions are examined and contrasted.
This workshop will guide you through the processes, methods, issues and decisions required for designing a system configuration to meet your business needs while maintaining an environment that meets or exceeds your security policy with the complex requirements of most businesses today.
The technical administration of a Content Server architecture will be examined. This includes the use of monitoring tools and analysis tools that are available for Content Server. Best practices for architecture administration are also covered.
Finally, architectural continuity issues are covered including: Application continuity plans along with highly available architectures; Backup and Recovery strategies as well as Disaster Recovery strategies. We will also examine some of the future possibilities that Content Server Storage Provider and OpenText Archive Server integration will allow.

Prerequisites:
215 System and Search Administration and Experience as a Content Server system administrator, with an understanding of servers, networks, and familiarity with installing and configuring Web serverssystem architectures.
