Collections Server System Administration on UNIX
Duration: 2 days
This workshop teaches installation and maintenance of the Collections Server (formerly BASIS) system, using real-life examples.
This two-day, hands-on course examines system administration functions for Collections Server in a secure, real-world environment. This course equips the student with the knowledge and experience needed to install Collections Server software, manage and monitor the system, address performance issues, and to respond quickly and with confidence should problems occur.
Audience:
The system administrator or manager responsible for the installing and maintaining a Collections Server system.
Prerequisites:
- Quickstart Database Administration
- A basic knowledge of UNIX.
- Familiarity with an editor such as vi, emacs or pico
- Experience using UNIX commands to traverse UNIX directory trees, list files, show/set environment variables and execute shell scripts.
- Korn shell experience is preferable, but C shell is available.
- Experience using web browsers.
