Sparta Systems and Open Text Partner to Provide Best of Breed Solutions for Quality Management and Electronic Document Management
Solution Helps Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device Firms Manage and Track Quality Issues in New Product Development
Holmdel, NJ , Chicago, IL - 2004-01-06 - Sparta Systems, Inc., the market leader in enterprise Quality Management Systems (QMS), and makers of TrackWise® Quality Management Systems software, and Open Text™ Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSX: OTC), provider of Livelink®, the leading collaboration and content management software for the global enterprise, announced today the integration of Livelink and TrackWise, to give pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device customers a flexible integrated solution to manage quality issues and related documentation in the drug and device testing, development, and manufacturing processes.
The TrackWise/Livelink integration ties together all documentation and other content associated with specific quality issues -- CAPA, change control, audits -- being managed and tracked. The integration enables customers to perform many Livelink electronic document management functions, such as check in and out, version control and content search, directly from the TrackWise interface. With this partnership and product integration, organizations will benefit from the robust architecture and years of experience of Sparta Systems and Open Text.
“Regulations for reporting event discrepancies really put the pressure on customers to monitor all activity in response to problems and issues that arise in the development, manufacturing and delivery of drugs and medical devices,” said Martin Sumner Smith, Vice President of Pharmaceutical Solutions at Open Text. “Speed, accuracy and completeness of response is essential, so customers need an integrated solution that brings event tracking into their overall collaboration and content management systems. By partnering with Sparta, we are able to deliver an easy-to-deploy solution that directly addresses these critical requirements.”
“The market leading capabilities of TrackWise, combined with Livelink, will give customers the fully integrated capabilities they need,” said Ran J. Flam, President & CEO at Sparta Systems. “Our combined solution allows customers to track and report on key events that impact quality and compliance, while managing all of the associated documentation, and that gives customers a major advantage in compliance to regulations from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other agencies.”
The integrated offering will be available at the end of January with version 6.0 of TrackWise, and version 9.1 or higher of Livelink. The companies will also feature the new solution as part of a joint seminar on quality management and compliance for FDA-regulated industries, to be held February 5 in Boston.
