Open Text Announces Alliance with Workshare to Offer Document Content Collaboration Solutions to Livelink Users
Open Text offers Workshare's Products as Livelink Collaborative Platform Enhancement
Chicago, IL, and San Francisco, CA - 2002-11-05 - Open Text™ Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSX: OTC), provider of Livelink®, the leading collaboration and knowledge management software for the global enterprise, and Workshare, the leading provider of document content collaboration software, today announced a new alliance to offer a powerful combination of advanced document collaboration applications with Livelink's extensive knowledge management capabilities. Open Text and Workshare announced the alliance at Live LinkUp 2002, Open Text's annual user conference held this week in Chicago.
Under this new alliance, Open Text will distribute Workshare® DeltaView®, the world's leading document comparison tool, and Workshare® Synergy™, an application for managing document collaboration, including the authoring and review of Microsoft® Word documents by multiple contributors. The combination of Workshare DeltaView and Workshare Synergy will make Livelink the first knowledge management offering to provide a complete solution for document management, comparison and document content collaboration.
The new joint offering of the two companies' products will be targeted to the life sciences industry, which requires robust content collaboration and document controls in order to meet regulatory requirements for managing electronic documents. The addition of Workshare's products to Livelink will enable users to standardize content collaboration on Microsoft® Word documents, speed time to document submissions/completion and keep an in-depth history of content changes—all critical to the rapidly growing life sciences vertical.
