Admiral plc wins major contract at the Cabinet Office
Beaconsfield, UK - 1999-01-26 - Admiral plc , the international IT services company, is delighted to announce that it has won the contract to supply a new and secure IT system to the Cabinet Office.
Geoff Neville, Managing Director of Admiral Management Services said: "Admiral is delighted to have been awarded this important contract with the Cabinet Office. It will allow us to demonstrate our ability to deliver innovative, reliable and high performance IT systems and strengthen our track record as one of the UK's leading suppliers of IT services and solutions."
Admiral will be working in partnership with Sequent Computers Ltd. Paul Kelly, Managing Director of Sequent Computer Systems UK Ltd. said: "The project will illustrate how Sequent can provide users with powerful, reliable and cost-effective solutions to their IT needs. "
The new system at the Cabinet Office will provide desktop office automation facilities and a key feature of the solution will be the implementation of the innovative, collaborative Knowledge Management system, Livelink, supplied by Open Text (NASDAQ:OTEX; TSE:OTC), which, as a Web-based application provides comprehensive off-the-shelf facilities including workflow and secure document management.
