United States Navy Chooses Livelink for Command-Wide Collaborative Intranet and Global Extranet
Livelink's powerful collaborative capabilities and scalability will provide global access and improve productivity
Chicago, IL - 2000-02-29 - Open Text™ Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSE: OTC), the leading provider of collaborative intranet, extranet and e-business applications, announced today that its flagship product, Livelink®, has become the collaborative intranet standard for United States Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).
NAVSEA is responsible for the design, manufacture, lifecycle management and maintenance of all U.S. Navy ships and submarines and their respective weapons systems. Over the next two years, NAVSEA plans to undertake a major relocation from its centralized headquarters to smaller, dispersed office locations. NAVSEA requires a collaborative solution to help ease this transition by reducing filing and storage space requirements, facilitating access to corporate information, and enhancing customer service.

By the end of the year 2000, NAVSEA intends to scale its initial Livelink implementation to include an extranet, connecting thousands of users within the NAVSEA family and enabling them to better serve the needs of their customer-the Fleet.
