Sustainability Initiatives at Open Text Content World
At Open Text, we place a strong focus on the environment. That's why we're working hard with our event partners to ensure that Content World is as green as possible. Together, we've taken the necessary steps towards protecting our natural resources while reducing our environmental footprint. Here's how Content World demonstrates our ongoing commitment through business sustainable practices:
Exhibitor Practices
Open Text has partnered with GES, an exhibition company that will provide the conference with green exhibition products, and operational practices, including:
- 100% recycled and biodegradable materials
- Online and digital distribution of conference materials by Open Text
- Soya and vegetable inks for printing needs
- Recycling donations to programs providing for community organizations and third world countries
- Recycling conference materials, such as signage products and metal exhibits
- Energy efficient lighting throughout exhibits
Attendee Materials
Eco-friendly Promotional Items
Open Text has chosen to practice customer and business sustainable practices by partnering with promotional product vendors that feature recycled, renewable or organic conference products. These sustainable products use less energy and emit fewer pollutants in the production process.
Online Conference Materials
In an effort to reduce the amount of printed paper at the conference, Open Text will provide speaker slide presentations, breakout session collateral and exhibitor booth materials accessible online in the Content World Community, as well as on request.
Hotel and Accommodations
We are proud to announce that this year's conference hotel, the JW Marriott Grande Lakes, has received Green Lodging Designation for their commitment towards reducing water consumption, conserving energy, and contributing to improved air quality. The JW Marriott Grande Lakes features:
- Comprehensive recycling facilities with single stream recycling compactor
- Energy management control systems for lighting including photo sensors
- Conservation of natural habitats and nesting areas
- Clean air practices including smoke free amenities
At Open Text, we constantly strive to improve our sustainability strategy. We welcome your questions, comments and suggestions. Please contact us at contentworld@opentext.com.
