On October 31st, 2008, Open Text acquired Captaris and Captaris Document Technologies (CDT), strengthening our position as the largest independent vendor in Enterprise Content Management (ECM). The combined entity is even better positioned to serve the ECM needs of global organizations with our new, much broader portfolio of products and solutions.
Captaris and CDT offer complementary products that expand our ECM solutions with products that automate customers’ critical, document-intensive business processes, such as accounts payable. This integration adds domain expertise to the Open Text team with experienced professionals who understand the complex processes these systems manage in large organizations and will expand Open Text’s partnership offerings by creating tighter integration with Open Text's invoice management solutions that work with SAP and Oracle.
