Open Text has a long history of developing products and solutions that leverage the Microsoft technology portfolio. For over a decade, Open Text’s flagship Livelink ECM Enterprise Server product has run on the server side on successive versions of Microsoft Windows servers, SQL Server databases and Internet Information Services (IIS), and since general availability, has supported .NET and Microsoft Exchange. Client applications run on Windows through Microsoft Internet Explorer and support user productivity though integration with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and more recently SharePoint.

Open Text has  committed to support the latest version of Microsoft’s flagship development tool, Visual Studio 2005, for the development of new Livelink ECM solutions that integrate with SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and later versions. By supporting Visual Studio 2005, Open Text developers can extend SharePoint Portal Server functionality with Livelink Enterprise Server’s additional ECM capabilities to create business and vertical market solutions.
