The public sector is expected to increase its overall efficiencies, while delivering programs and services cost effectively within limited budgets and resources. As citizens turn to the cloud for access to digital information and services, in order to stay relevant, the government must mirror these services.

OpenText Rapid Governance (OTRG) is a cloud-based solution that enables governments to rapidly deploy good governance and development measures to all stakeholders. Governments use OTRG to increase service delivery and accessibility to constituents, while maintaining tight security and complete control of their information assets. Because it is available on a proven and secure cloud infrastructure, deployment is quick and inexpensive, allowing governments to avoid costly technology investment and immediately focus their efforts on delivery value-added services and programs.

Proven Solutions - G-20 Summits in Toronto and Korea

During the 2010 G-20 Summits in Toronto, Canada and Seoul, Korea, for the first time in history, delegates were given secure access to a social network to collaborate on issues before, during and after the Summit. The network, which offers multilingual support and global access from mobile devices including BlackBerrys®, iPhones® and iPads, is a self governing community that facilitates senior level collaboration, a good fit for the G-20 which has no official secretariat.

A corresponding social network, G20Net, was available for the media, businesses and other participants to improve access to Summit-related information. Members were able to use their mobile devices to engage with subject matter experts and hundreds of librarians online to provide prompt answers to questions about the Summit and key issues.
