Inspectors
Facilities in education and social services are inspected regularly to ensure compliance with regulations to determine if minimum health and safety requirements are being followed with respect to policies, staffing, resident care, building requirements and more. Follow up is required in response to items that need to be corrected, complaints, allegations of abuse, and reportable incidents. ECM provides information and process management that allows inspectors to access all pertinent information around the processes required to manage inspections, including the public recording of inspections. Inspection reports on government websites provide the licensee and the public with information regarding any regulatory requirements that are not met and will indicate when the issue(s) have been resolved—increasing accountability and transparency of programs such as senior healthcare and child care. In accordance to freedom of information acts, the public is able to browse the history of facilities (capacity, contact information, routine inspection and follow-up to routine inspection findings), conduct additional research, contact local authorities or licensing branches and search across databases of facilities.
