It's something we have all had to deal with time and again: transferring data from documents to computer applications makes up a significant share of day-to-day office work. Whether it’s completing forms on the Web, typing data into an ERP application, indexing documents for an archiving system, or entering the content of a customer transaction into a CRM system – the time of highly qualified employees is frequently spent on menial activities. Open Text Desktop Capture simplifies and accelerates these tasks. Whenever a form or dialog box requires input from a document, users switch temporarily from their application to the Open Text Desktop Capture document display. There, users are easily guided through the input fields of their application by the Navigator, a small information box attached to their mouse cursor. The user points to the required information, clicks once, and Open Text Desktop Capture inserts the data. Once the last input field has been reached, users are automatically returned to their application. Small but effective utilities help users quickly locate the needed information in the document.
Open Text Desktop Capture can help find unique data elements such as email, phone numbers, and invoice numbers by highlighting them on the image as the user clicks through the form fields.
