  • Advanced search and faceted navigation speeds up search and findability of digital media assets, allowing users to drill down, filter and find asset relationships and assets quickly, improving overall efficiency and productivity. Enhanced search adds a layer of intelligence to make sense of large content repositories.
  • Broad integration of digital content processing technologies, including proxy and rendition generation, image transformation, digital watermarking, PDF assembly and automated packaging. OpenText Media Management supports review and approvals, rich media asset storage and archive, control, versioning and repurposing for multiple publishing and distribution scenarios.

  • OTMM metadata and taxonomy supports hierarchical and non-hierarchical metadata, an unlimited number of metadata models and fields, configurable inheritance, and global visibility. Classification taxonomy automatically classifies content using synonyms, relations, “sounds like,” and natural language. Content analysis, entity extraction, common terms and auto-extraction of metadata are supported, as well as tag clouds and automatic categorization based on user-defined rules. Metadata fields can be mapped to third-party databases, such as SAP or Oracle Financials, to manage data and searches in enterprise libraries as if they were local.
  • Integration with other enterprise information applications to incorporate information from these systems as part of the metadata for digital assets enables users to search and locate assets while ensuring that access and security are enforced. Integrate with business systems including SAP CRM, Microsoft Sharepoint and tools including, MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • OpenText Widget Services, provides an easy way of packaging and deploying digital content to the Web. Widgets are small Web applications embedded in a Web page that presents your content in a rich media, immersive experience. From the widget you can preview and download documents, PDFs, and images. Widget Services connects OpenText Media Management repositories to the widget publishing platform. Widget Manager allows you to create, manage and monitor your widgets. Adobe Flash-based or HTML5 widget templates give you flexibility in syndicating and distributing your widget. Once a template is selected just add content from Media Management and it’s ready to embed in a Web page.
    • OpenText Customer Experience Management offers integrated solutions providing unrivalled capabilities that enable OpenText Media Management assets to be dynamically transferred to OpenText Web Experience Management. This integration seamlessly injects your rich media assets into your web content management workflows and automatically optimizes those rich media assets for multi-channel delivery out to the web and mobile devices.

The platform and framework provide a comprehensive and open tool set with SDK, API and Web Services to facilitate integration. Architecture also supports on-premise, hosted solutions and offers a SaaS model, OpenText Media Management On Demand.
  • A policy-based security model allows administrators to manage security policies, user hierarchies, and policies and permissions under which users interact with asset collections.
  • DRM support maintains integrity and usage once an asset is distributed outside Media Management. Watermarking and rules-based security policies add more security, plus the Workflow Engine enables embargo dates, asset expiration and asset locking.
  • Localization support allows local or regional entities to create and customize rich media using Media Management policies, workflows and version control. The localized content version is linked to the parent asset with global, secure access policies.
