Southfield, MI - 1997-04-21 - Campbell Services, the leading provider of
enterprise group scheduling solutions, today announced that it is working
with Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., the leading provider of
network security solutions to make it easier for companies to conduct
secure group scheduling via the Internet.
Campbell Services will include Check Point's FireWall-1 SecuRemote
client software with OnTime Enterprise, enabling their customers who have
the Check Point FireWall-1 Inspection Module to take full advantage of
OnTime's powerful TCP/IP support and client/server architecture to
schedule across the Internet, while maintaining the same level of security
that their corporate network provides.
Check Point's SecuRemote creates a virtual private network (VPN) for
remote clients such as mobile PCs and laptops by providing
client-to-firewall encryption. OnTime customers get secure remote access
to their schedules via the OnTime client software or their standard Web
browser. Users can access the complete user directory, public groups,
data, and do searches as they would inside the corporate network.
As part of its drive to make it safer for customers to use public networks
such as the Internet for enterprise group scheduling, the company also
announced it is joining Check Point's Open Platform for Secure Enterprise
Connectivity (OPSEC) Alliance as a Passport Partner. OPSEC's mission
is to establish standards to insure that different security technologies work
together to enhance Internet and Intranet computing.
"This combination of technologies will alleviate the security concerns
companies have about deploying client/server applications on the Internet,"
said Mike Heylin, director of Internet research at Creative Strategies
International.
"Group scheduling is a perfect application to take advantage of Check
Point's VPN technology," said Jacqueline Ross, director of marketing for
Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. "Organizations have walled
themselves in and are denying remote employees and telecommuters
access to some of the advantages of the Internet - such as full access to
their calendars - anytime, anywhere. VPN's are a cost-effective way to
overcome this problem."
OnTime was the first group scheduling solution to deliver real-time Internet
group scheduling. Campbell Services is committed to providing its
customers with total solutions by partnering with companies, such as
Check Point and AT&T. These product and service relationships help
OnTime customers take full advantage of the world-wide reach of the
Internet to set up meetings and manage schedules.
