OpenText s perfect serve for LTA

London - 2011-06-08 - The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), has launched the AEGON British Tennis Series mobile app empowered by Thomson Reuters, available on all major mobile platforms. OpenTextTM is proud to be driving the technology behind the app, where tennis fans worldwide can get all the latest from the AEGON Championships, AEGON Classic and AEGON International. Features on the app include latest news, photos, live scores, draws, order of play and results, videos, player bios as well as statistics and Twitter feeds.

Free of charge to download now from the iTunes app store, Android Marketplace and Blackberry App World, the app was developed by OpenText in time to celebrate the start of the grass court season this week with the AEGON Championships and AEGON Classic.

OpenText has powered live sports apps for different associations around the world, so that fans can always get the latest headlines and player stats on the go, commented Steve Tan, Programme Director, Mobility Solutions at OpenText. We have worked closely with the LTA to launch the definitive information hub for tennis fans following the summer grass court events. It is fast, easy to use, interactive, full of exciting content and users will get the same experience no matter what platform they are on.

He continued: What a lot of people don t realise is it is a challenge to get apps to deliver the same functionality and speed on all mobiles. Tennis is a very inclusive sport and we wanted to reach the highest number of fans possible - our technology makes sure that this app looks and feels the same and performs to the highest standard on all devices.

Bruce Philipps, LTA Communications and Commercial Director said: It s really exciting to be able to offer this app once again so our fans can receive up to the minute information from all three of our AEGON grass court tournaments. It demonstrates the LTA s commitment to technology in the digital age. It is a great opportunity for us to link with fans and players alike, and offers the public a free way to keep up to speed with all the action of our British players at the key pre-Wimbledon events this summer.
