Lava Expands Global Distribution Reach
LAVA Systems Inc. Poised for Increased Export Sales
Toronto, ON - 1997-07-28 - LAVA Systems Inc. (TSE: LVA),
developer of award-winning document management, imaging, workflow,
middleware and COLD (computer output to laser disk) software,
announced today the company has doubled the size of its existing
distribution channel since its initial public offering in November, 1996. In
releasing information about the size of its distribution network, the
company indicated it has signed marketing and distribution agreements
with over 50 systems integrators, consulting firms and independent
software vendors in North America, South America, Europe and Australia.
The company also indicated that it is currently in negotiations with a major
systems integrator and software distributor to sell its products in South
East Asia.
Peter Hamilton, president and CEO of LAVA Systems Inc, said: "We are
aggressively positioning LAVA as a global supplier of superior information
management, imaging, workflow and COLD solutions because we want to
give corporate and government customers, worldwide, every opportunity to
take advantage of the best technologies available. As a Canadian-based
company we depend on the global marketplace to reach our sales targets
and this can only be done with an extensive distribution network of capable
systems integrators and other distributors who know their local market
conditions. The fact that organizations such as CPT Systemhaus in
Germany; Rebus Limited in the UK and Future Trends in Abu Dabi have
agreed to distribute LAVA Systems' products, attests to a global
confidence in our ability to become a multi-national leader in information
management systems."
Other authorized distributors recently signed include: BFGP Ingenieros in
Venezuela; Decision Data in Greece and Hume Computers in Australia.
The expansion in LAVA's indirect business channels reflects the
company's consistent endeavor to exploit its technological leadership in its
broad product offerings and to extend LAVA's range of features in line with
the demands within local markets.
