Open Text Affinity Reseller Program Attracts More Than 35 Members Worldwide
New Partnerships Further Strengthen Open Text's Global Distribution Channels
Waterloo, ON - 1997-09-02 - With the latest addition of 20 new
value-added resellers and systems integrators, Open Text Corporation's
Affinity Reseller program has successfully secured a global membership of
more than 35 resellers in less than six months. The Affinity Reseller
Program was designed to offer selected partners worldwide the opportunity
to resell and add value to Livelink Intranet, a collaborative network
application for managing globally-distributed knowledge and information on
an intranet.
The Affinity Reseller program's rapid acceptance since its February launch
has enabled Open Text to resell Livelink Intranet to expanded markets in
North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. New partners include recognized
resellers such as Personal Workstations Inc., Kumpulan Netband (MSC)
and Burnt Sand Solutions Inc..
"The technology marketplace is rapidly developing a Web-centric vision
and has contributed to the early success of our Affinity Reseller program,"
said Don Pasquale, Director, Open Text Affinity Program. "Livelink opens
the door to a dynamic and rapidly expanding market segment for our
growing family of partners. The Affinity Reseller program's tremendous
growth reinforces the value of Livelink to help companies automate their
business processes and share knowledge across their organizations."
Affinity partner Personal Workstations Inc. (PWI) is the largest reseller of
Netscape Navigator in the Northwest United States. "There is an extremely
hot market out there for Livelink," says Barry Andersen, President, PWI.

Partner to meet this huge customer demand. Together, we are able to
provide our clients with full integration and support for Netscape
commercial applications."

integrator company in Malaysia and Singapore, joined the Affinity Reseller
program in July 1997. "Open Text Livelink Intranet is the only
open-architected, enterprise-wide, Web-based intranet application on the
market," says Steven Yong, Vice President, I@NET Division, Kumpulan
Netband (MSC). "Our customers are looking for rapid, large-scale intranet
deployments that provide project collaboration, document and knowledge
management, workflow and strong search capabilities and Livelink Intranet
meets those requirements."

integration and Web development company and was named Netscape's
1996 Messaging and Collaboration Partner of the Year. "We are very

customizing intranet applications which further enable our customers to
visualize, communicate and share their information and knowledge
enterprise-wide."
The Affinity program features a comprehensive set of tools and services,
including training and certification, sales leads, marketing development
funds, discount extensions, branding and a secure Livelink-based extranet
site that provides an interactive forum for sharing Open Text and partner
resources. The resellers contribute consulting, software customization,
application development and integration in key application areas and
