Litton PRC Chooses Open Text Livelink Intranet To Streamline Knowledge Management in Weather Systems Department
Chicago, IL - 1997-09-29 - Open Text Corporation
(NASDAQ:OTEX) announced today that a leading federal government
systems integrator, Litton PRC, has chosen Livelink Intranet to streamline
collaboration and project management in its Weather Systems
department. Weather Systems supports government and
commercially-related weather prediction and disaster recovery resources.
Presently, PRC uses Livelink to collaborate and share knowledge across
the Weather Systems department and plans to extend its implementation
by creating an extranet for future applications.
"Before we implemented Livelink Intranet, we didn't have a systematic or
centralized way of tracking our action items," says Doug McVicar, Vice
President and General Manager, Weather Systems at PRC. "We chose
Livelink because it combined the ability to track tasks and centralize a
document library in one integrated, Web-based solution, allowing PRC
employees to save time and increase their responsiveness to customers."
Livelink enables PRC employees to manage and share knowledge across
the company and collaborate on projects without the additional training
often required with new technology implementations. "In addition, Livelink
takes collaboration one step further by enabling PRC to implement an
extranet that will create a private network between customers and
employees, increasing the speed of doing business," adds McVicar.
"We are delighted that PRC has chosen Livelink Intranet for its knowledge
management needs within Weather Systems," says Tom Jenkins, CEO,
Open Text Corporation. "PRC's adoption of Livelink further demonstrates
the product's rapid market acceptance by the world's leading
corporations."
