Open Text Hailed as One of Top 15 Intranet Software Companies
InformationWeek Listing Ranks Open Text Among the Very Best
Chicago, IL - 1997-12-01 - Open Text Corporation
(NASDAQ:OTEX) today announced that it has been named one of 15 key
intranet software vendors by influential U.S. trade magazine,
InformationWeek.
"This is a great coup for us, but not a surprise," said Abe Kleinfeld, Senior
Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Development, Open Text. "We
have already established ourselves as leaders in the knowledge
management market. InformationWeek's recognition of Open Text among
the industry's elite is a reflection of what our customers have known for a
long time."
The listing appeared in the November 17, 1997, edition of InformationWeek
(issue #657). It is part of a comprehensive round-up of intranet and extranet
solutions in the magazine's Intranet/Extranet 100 Special Report.
Open Text's inclusion in the InformationWeek listing is due in large part to
the success of its flagship intranet software product, Livelink Intranet.
Livelink Intranet is a highly scalable, collaborative knowledge management
application for intranets. Its richly featured enterprise document
management, workflow, project collaboration and search engines are
tightly integrated into an off-the-shelf application that is easily customized
and extended to fill a broad range of information and knowledge
management needs. Livelink servers are fully Web-based and
open-architected to ensure very rapid deployment, requiring just a standard
Web browser on users' desktops to access its full functionality. Livelink
runs on Microsoft Windows NT and the leading UNIX platforms and
supports most popular database management systems. In addition, a
workgroup version of Livelink is bundled with Netscape SuiteSpot.
