Provident Financial Group Chooses Open Text Livelink to Link Thousands of Vendors and Customers Via Extranet
Open Text Further Strengthens Market Penetration in Financial Services Industry
Las Vegas, Nevada - 1998-02-10 - -- Open Text Corporation
(NASDAQ:OTEX) announced today at its 1998 Livelink User Conference
that Free Market Partners, a division of the Provident Bank, will use
Livelink Intranet for enterprise-wide collaborative knowledge management.
Provident Financial Group is among the top one hundred banks in the
United States, with 80 financial centers, and more than $7.0 billion in total
assets.
Free Market Partners is using Livelink to create a database of company
knowledge, which can be accessed by call center employees to
immediately answer customer questions across a wide range of
categories. Livelink's ease of deployment enabled the company to make
over 1200 intellectual capital projects accessible online within months.
Free Market Partners will also use Livelink to create an extranet, enabling
better communication with hundreds of vendors and customers concerning
contract negotiations, project updates and database management.
"We chose Livelink because it was a solution that solved many problems,"
says Jim Christopher, Vice President, Enablement Systems, Free Market
Partners. "Being Web-based, Livelink offers fast, open communications
which enabled us to quickly facilitate large-scale project management and
workflow capabilities. And now, as we build enterprise intelligence, Livelink
allows us to share knowledge not only with our employees, but with
vendors and customers via an extranet."
"We are pleased that Free Market Partners has chosen Livelink as their
knowledge management standard," says Abe Kleinfeld, Senior
Vice-President, Marketing, Open Text Corporation. "Free Market Partner's
innovative use of Livelink for both their intranet and extranet further
demonstrates the high value and flexibility that Livelink continues to deliver
to financial services institutions worldwide."
