Open Text Obtains U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Certification for eDOCS Records Management

Certification Reaffirms Continued Commitment to eDOCS Customers and Their Investments in Certified Records Management Capabilities

Chicago, IL - 2007-09-17 - Open Text (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), the largest independent provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software and solutions, said today that the latest version of its Livelink ECM eDOCS RM solution has been certified as compliant with the U.S. Department of Defense 5015.2-STD, a key standard for records management software used in corporations and governments. Open Text s solution is certified for both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server-based implementations.

The certification demonstrates the Company s continued commitment to advance and support the eDOCS (formerly Hummingbird Enterprise) product line, protecting customers existing investments in eDOCS technology.

The DoD 5015.2-STD certification process serves as a way to demonstrate that records management software meets mandatory functional requirements for use in the U.S. federal government. The certification is so highly regarded that it has been adopted over the years by the corporate world as a requirement for records management software.

The Livelink ECM eDOCS RM solution offers all the capabilities customers need to create, categorize and manage an organization s critical records, whether electronic or physical. The solution includes extensive email integration to capture important emails, attachments and threads and manage them as records, along with documents and other content. Other key features include the ability to suspend records to meet discovery orders and assist in regulatory audits; security to defend against unauthorized access to information; event notifications of record activities; and built-in reporting tools to track content and activity throughout a record s lifecycle.

With today s announcement, customers can continue to gain value from their eDOCS investment and from our continued commitment, as a worldwide leader in records management, to delivering the most advanced, fully certified solutions, said Kirk Roberts, President, Livelink ECM Division at Open Text.
