Open Text s Artesia Digital Media Group and Front Porch Digital Partner to Deliver Integrated Video Management Solution
Partnership Enables Customers to Maximize Expansive Video Libraries and More Efficiently Support Broadcast Content Workflows
Chicago, Illinois - 2007-05-22 - Open Text Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), the largest independent provider of enterprise content management (ECM) software and solutions, announced today a partnership between its Artesia Digital Media Group and Front Porch Digital, the global market leader in Content Storage Management (CSM) solutions for the broadcast community, to offer joint customers an integrated video management and storage solution, with the ability to ingest and retrieve large video files to and from the Front Porch Digital DIVArchive through Artesia DAM.
Global media companies have a constant need to provide sophisticated digital asset management capabilities to enable efficient collaboration, reuse, and distribution; and to address the challenges associated with storing, archiving, and retrieving video content from video repositories that require large amounts of cost-effective storage optimized for broadcast media workflows. To address these storage-related broadcast requirements, Artesia looked to Front Porch Digital for its DIVArchive solution a software middleware that enables the interoperability between large digital media storage devices, video servers, editing systems and digital media workflow applications.
Our customers have some of the most substantial video repositories in terms of volume and usage, said Scott Bowen, President of Open Text s Artesia Digital Media Group. The integration of Artesia DAM and Front Porch DIVArchive solutions is a significant move towards meeting the unique storage and access requirements associated with broadcast video content.
With the combined Artesia DAM and Front Porch DIVArchive solution, customers will be able to more effectively manage, search for and retrieve content from their large and complex archive stores. For video-centric organizations like Discovery Communications, The Freedom Forum and CanWest, this combined offering will be an important element to their overall media management and storage strategy.
We are looking forward to working together with Artesia to improve the overall digital content management experience for our combined customer base, said Michael Knaisch, President of Front Porch Digital. Our commitment to maintaining a seamless integration of our respective best-of-breed products has strengthened our partnership and allowed us to pursue a number of new installations.
