Tronox LLC Selects Contract Management Solution from Open Text
Adds Livelink ECM Contract Lifecycle Management to its Open Text Solution to Support Contract Processes for Business Units Worldwide
Chicago, IL - 2007-01-23 - Open Text Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), the largest independent provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software and solutions, today announced that Tronox LLC, one of the world s largest producers of titanium dioxide pigment used in paints, plastics and other everyday products, will extend its Livelink ECM deployment with the addition of Livelink ECM Contract Lifecycle Management. The integrated solution will be deployed across the enterprise to provide employees with centralized access to contract documents.
Tronox, a long-standing Open Text customer, previously integrated ECM to deliver full lifecycle document and enterprise content management across the company. The system was designed to support Tronox s globally dispersed teams in communication and project management. It provides timely access to accurate information which has resulted in collaboration and increased efficiency for the company, while helping to ensure regulatory compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Tronox is expanding its use of Livelink ECM with Contract Lifecycle Management, which will help employees across various departments and divisions work together to support all processes related to a contract throughout its lifecycle from creation through fulfillment and modification to termination. By making contracts available to many business units within the enterprise, the company will obtain the maximum benefits from its contracts.
"Adopting the contract management solution on an enterprise-wide basis is another cost-effective way to leverage our existing Livelink ECM infrastructure to deliver a variety of content-centric solutions, said Sharon Gage, Tronox Director of Information Technology. These solutions help streamline processes, manage costs and ensure compliance in operations across our work groups and departments. Since contracts affect most Tronox groups, enhancing our control of contracts and our contracting process definitely benefits our business."
Open Text s contract lifecycle management solution helps customers save money by reducing unnecessary costs associated with automatic contract renewals and the manual entry of data into a tracking system. Customers can benefit from reduced operating costs, shortened negotiation cycles, stronger compliance with policies and regulations, reduced staffing requirements, and higher revenues.
An organization deploying contract management software has a deeper and more contextualized understanding of the risks, obligations and benefits associated with each contract. Managing the information contained in a contract and the overall contract lifecycle are critical to meeting compliance regulations, said John Wilkerson, Executive Vice President of Global Sales, Services and Support at Open Text. With the Livelink ECM solution deployed across the enterprise, a company can ensure that the right people have access to business-critical information at the right time and minimize exposure to unnecessary risk.
