Open Text Extends Global Agreement with HP to Help Customers Improve Business Processes and Compliance
Open Text Becomes a Top ECM Partner for HP
Chicago, IL - 2006-05-08 - Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a leading provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software, announced today that it has extended its global agreement with HP to provide customers with solutions that improve the way documents, emails and other information are managed through complex business processes.
Focusing initially on Europe, the companies will provide solutions that address the high costs and compliance risks of managing and storing information, while making operations more efficient. The extended agreement will make Open Text a top ECM partner for HP.
Companies today struggle with vast amounts of electronic information, which can slow operations and create legal and regulatory problems if not managed properly. The solutions from Open Text and HP will help better manage information throughout its lifecycle in ways that meet both compliance rules and efficiency demands. The solutions will use Open Text s Livelink ECM software and compliance solutions with HP Integrity servers and the HP StorageWorks File System Extender offering.
In addition to Europe, the companies will focus on opportunities in North America to work with systems integrators and consultants on compliance solutions. Open Text and HP s combined offerings are particularly useful in helping customers manage the massive volumes of documents and other content generated by ERP systems that run critical business functions, such as finance and human resources.
Our customers in Europe and worldwide are embracing HP Integrity servers as a key platform to run business-critical systems, said Peter Jelinski, Senior Vice President, Products and Solutions Segments at Open Text. HP and Open Text are long-standing partners, but with this announcement we are building a more strategic relationship that matches our complementary offerings with the increasingly complex information management challenges our customers are facing.
"Customers need to leverage the power of their information to gain a competitive business advantage," said Frank Harbist, Vice President and General Manager, ILM and Storage Software, StorageWorks Division, HP. "To get there, they are increasingly demanding sophisticated solutions, and the combined offerings from HP and Open Text not only provide leading capabilities in records management and email management, but also address the complexities of capturing, managing, retaining and delivering information throughout its lifecycle across the enterprise."
Open Text is a member of the HP StorageWorks Information Lifecycle Management Partner Program and one of a growing number of software companies that supports the HP Integrity server family.
