Open Text and Deloitte Canada Join Forces to Provide Enterprise Content Management Solutions
Industry Leading Products and Services Alliance to Drive Value and Results for Customers
LinkUp Phoenix 2004, Phoenix, Arizona - 2004-11-17 - Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSX: OTC), the world s largest provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software, said today it has formed an alliance with Deloitte Canada, the country s leading professional services firm, to provide enterprise content management (ECM) solutions and services to North American clients. With the goal of helping companies reduce the complexity of business change, regulatory compliance and deployment, Open Text and Deloitte Canada have joined forces to help clients streamline and automate processes, connect with information systems, and access and manage all forms of content.
Open Text announced the news at its North American user conference LinkUp Phoenix 2004, underway this week in Phoenix, Arizona.
The alliance was formed in response to a series of successful customer engagements over the past twelve months with Deloitte s Information Dynamics practice. Based on those successes and current trends, the alliance will initially target solutions for managing compliance and extending enterprise ERP systems with collaboration and document lifecycle capabilities. Additionally, the alliance will initially focus on solutions for financial-services, healthcare and the public sector.
The current generation of compliance solutions has mostly been limited to simple capture of control data and basic compliance documentation, said Terry Stuart, Principal, Deloitte Canada. Having survived round one, companies are now beginning to implement a second wave of compliance solutions having greater organizational and strategic impact. Deloitte believes Open Text s products are well positioned to fulfill these new demands.
The combined expertise of Open Text and Deloitte will help clients pinpoint critical strategic issues and deploy solutions that allow them to improve productivity, reduce the cost of compliance and meet audit requirements simultaneously. The targeted solutions will combine functionality from Open Text s Livelink ECM suite, including industry specific offerings, with Deloitte Canada s leading systems integration and management consulting services. The alliance will provide a complete range of services to clients, from system design and integration, to deployment and ongoing support.
Deloitte brings an unprecedented range of global expertise and industry proven practices to assist our North American clients in achieving their business goals and bring control and consistency to their business processes, said Mike Baraiolo, Vice President of Global Business Development, Open Text. Open Text s ECM product suite combined with the systems integration experience and unparalleled business advisory services of Deloitte, allows us to address the strategic business challenges facing our customers today.
Deloitte Canada and Open Text will work together using a blended delivery approach to their customers. This approach leverages the best skill sets from all parties, optimizes standard functionality and services wherever possible, and allows industry-specific requirements to be isolated, packaged and reused. Customers benefit from time and cost savings compared with generic and one-off solutions that require more extensive customization and additional support.
