Open Text Announces PeopleSoft Integration Certification

Integration Receives Certification on PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management 8.8

Chicago, IL. - 2004-09-20 - Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSX: OTC), the world s largest provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software, today announced a new Livelink solution which integrates with PeopleSoftÒ Enterprise Financial Management 8.8 to improve invoice handling and reduce processing costs for customers. Open Text will demonstrate the solution this week at PeopleSoft Connect 2004, underway September 20-24 in San Francisco.

The Open Text solution, called Livelink for Accounts Payable, applies Livelink s flexible workflow and document management tools to facilitate the processing and tracking of invoice documentation.

Our business is helping customers manage enterprise content, said Bill Forquer, Executive Vice President of Marketing at Open Text. Livelink for Accounts Payable is an example of how we re extending our capabilities to the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications of valued partners such as PeopleSoft. By applying our ECM tools to help manage documents in these high-throughput, transaction-based ERP systems, we offer a powerful solution that reduces costs.

Open Text and PeopleSoft products, when integrated, will offer customers a document management solution that better manages the large volumes of content that flow through their PeopleSoft Enterprise Payables application, said Cynthia Pavana, Financial Management Product Manager for PeopleSoft.

Product Capabilities

Livelink for Accounts Payable offers a complete solution that includes flexible workflow to manage invoice routing, document management capabilities and flexible data capture technology. The solution also provides data entry with document imaging, optical character recognition, and heads-up data entry, in which online guides gives users a way to enter invoices. Once an invoice is approved, Livelink for Accounts Payable automatically provides invoice data to users creating invoices in PeopleSoft.

With workflows in Livelink for Accounts Payable, invoice processing can be tailored to meet new business demands. For example, if a company needs to suddenly pay all invoices from one of its suppliers, workflow can be quickly changed to prioritize those invoices for faster processing. Invoices can be prioritized by due date or amount or to take advantage of preferred vendor relationships or vendor discounts. Workflow is also auditable, providing a track record for the processing of all invoices to support corporate governance regulations and corporate accounting practices.
