Software Solutions Tailored to Improve Collaboration in Exploration and Production
Chicago, IL. - 2004-04-07 - Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSX: OTC), provider of Livelink®, the leading collaboration and content management software for the global enterprise, and The Frontline Group, a Houston-based energy industry business and technology consulting firm, today announced plans to jointly deliver leading Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software based on Open Text s Livelink suite. The solutions will help companies improve processes and team collaboration in oil and gas exploration.
The companies plan to combine Open Text s market leading ECM software -- which includes tightly integrated collaboration tools, document and content management, training, process automation and other capabilities with The Frontline Group s specialized process and change management consulting services, which are key to successful enterprise software implementations. Specifically tailored to the needs of energy companies, the solutions will offer new ways to link globally dispersed teams of people involved in oil exploration, and provide a single place where they can work together, share information and maintain project documents.
The Frontline Group offers the indepth industry expertise to help design ECM solutions that can be quickly integrated into a company s processes. Founded in 1992, The Frontline Group provides a range of consulting services and technology to the oil and gas industry, including knowledge management and organizational learning, risk management, project management and team collaboration, and more specialized services, for example, oil well performance benchmarking (http://www.frontline-group.com).
"Effective collaboration and information sharing result in better bottom line decisions," said Mark Brooker, President of The Frontline Group. "Oil and gas exploration involves teams of people from many different companies all having to work together very closely. Having a single, project-based system everyone can access to manage information and teamwork can significantly reduce cycle times and improve decision making."
"Working with The Frontline Group, we will be able to deliver solutions that get to the very heart of an oil company s business: Finding and producing new sources of energy," said Mike Baraiolo, Vice President of Global Business Development at Open Text. "The energy market offers a great opportunity to extend the capabilities of Livelink to meet specific industry requirements, just as we ve done in pharmaceuticals, financial services, government and other markets."
According to Baraiolo, Open Text and The Frontline Group will roll out the first of their offerings in the next few months and will also develop solutions aimed at other segments of the energy market.
