Brings Paper Documents into Livelink via Scanners and Copiers

Orlando, Florida - 2003-11-05 - eCopy, an innovative provider of document distribution and integration solutions, and Open Text Corporation provider of Livelink, the leading collaboration and content management software for the global enterprise, announced today they will introduce an integration of the eCopy Suite of products with Livelink, giving customers a flexible solution for transforming paper-based information into electronic files they can seamlessly share, modify, and store in their Livelink repositories. The eCopy Connector for Open Text Livelink will provide an interface for scanners and Canon imageRUNNERs to integrate with Livelink, extending Livelink s content and knowledge management features to paper documents. eCopy, Inc. also announced that it has become an Open Text Global Alliance Partner. Additionally, Open Text has joined eCopy s Connector Developer Program. The companies will demonstrate the eCopy Connector for Open Text Livelink at LiveLinkUp Orlando 2003, Open Text s annual user conference, and begin offering the solution in the first quarter of 2004.

"We are very excited to bring this level of document integration to our customers and to be working with leading companies such as eCopy and Canon," said Mike Baraiolo, vice president, Global Business Development at Open Text. "The integration with eCopy extends the value of Livelink by giving customers an easy way to bring paper documents into Livelink and manage them along side electronic information. It gives customers another way to get a handle on all their information by managing it in a single information repository."

The eCopy Connector for Open Text Livelink enables customers to scan and enter paper documents from a scanner or Canon imageRUNNER, applying all of Livelink s detailed classification features for subsequent full text indexing and retrieval in Livelink, or enter documents in Livelink workflows.

"Paper is not going away, in fact with the proliferation of e-mail and the Internet, businesses are using more paper then ever before," said Edward Schmid, president and CEO of eCopy, Inc. "Now, companies can bring their worlds of paper and digital together, and integrate paper into all of their existing business processes, netting them thousands in savings and increased productivity."
