Shell Deepwater Development Systems, Inc. Selects Open Text's Livelink For Global Extranet

Waterloo, ON - 1998-12-16 - Open Text Corporation (NASDAQ:OTEX; TSE:OTC) today announced that Shell Deepwater Development Systems, Inc., (a unit of Royal Dutch Shell), has chosen Livelink to create a global extranet, improving knowledge sharing and collaboration for its global deep water development activities.

Livelink's Web-based design will not only enable Shell Deepwater Development Systems to connect employees but will also allow them to expand access to collaborate with partners, customers and suppliers through a secure global extranet. As a result of Shell's Livelink pilot test, they were able to successfully complete a basis of design on a global project in record time.
