Open Text Puts Knowledge to Work for Information Professionals at the SLA Conference

Applied Cases and Integrated Strategies Reinforce the Library as the Pivotal Information Resource Center

Chicago, Il - 2003-06-05 - Open Text Corporation, provider of Livelink®, the leading collaboration and knowledge management software for the global enterprise, today announced its participation in the Special Libraries Association s (SLA) 2003 Annual Conference in New York City, June 7-12. The conference theme will highlight practices used in organizations that reflect the Association's strategic plan Professionals Putting Knowledge to Work in the 21st Century.

Part of the SLA Strategic Technology Alliance Series, Open Text will present a collaborative seminar that will highlight ways information professionals can manage library collections in a growing variety of electronic resources without investing in and learning specialized systems.

Practical, applied library strategies will illustrate how flexible and creative librarians use their integrated library system to manage this new content. Applying new metaphors to the library catalog ensures that users are comfortable and successful when they search, thereby reinforcing the library as the central source of authoritative information.

Moderated by Carol Knoblauch, Open Text Product Manager, the panel presentation entitled Integrated Libraries Require Integrated Systems will feature case study illustrations by Open Text customers: The Timken Company and the National Economic Research Associates (NERA), a Marsh & McLennan Company. Specialists in library management, each of the presenters has a rich and diverse background in developing and supporting integrated resource strategies:
