Open Text Announces LiveLinkUp Paris Award Winners

Customers Honored for Best-in-Practice Open Text Solutions

Chicago, Il - 2003-05-22 - Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSX: OTC), provider of Livelink®, the leading collaboration and knowledge management software for the global enterprise, today announced the winners of the LiveLinkUp Paris 2003 Awards.

The winners were recognized at the LiveLinkUp Paris conference last week, which also featured an exemplary line-up of Open Text Customer Presenters from such organizations as F.Hoffmann-La Roche, Shell U.K. Exploration and Production, Roland Berger, Flemish Government, Dutch Refugee Council, JohnsonDiversey, Worknet, Patni Computer Systems, Stadtsparkasse München, Pels Rijcken & Droogleever Fortuijn, Infineon Technologies, T-Systems, and Siemens AG.

Winner: Patni Computer Systems

Patni's Knowledge Management System, built around Livelink, is used by both delivery and sales organizations that are spread all over the globe. It has been successful in capturing business knowledge and is being used to reduce turnaround time and increase productivity of the organization.

Collaborative Solution
Winner: Barnardos

Barnardo s Livelink solution is helping its staff transform the lives of young people by facilitating comprehensive recording and access to case worker information. It also provides the ability to share information online with partner agencies, in accordance with government e-business directives.

Document & Content Management Solution
Winner: Siemens Financial Services

The Siemens Group, Siemens Financial Services GmbH, Munich, maintains an international network of financing companies, offering a broad range of financial solutions and services. Siemens Financial Services has implemented a fully integrated enterprise content management architecture based on Livelink. XML Skinning enables content to be dynamically published directly from Livelink to the organization s Intranet and to the SAP Enterprise Portal (piloted).

Library & Catalog Management Solution
Winner: Fundació La Caixa

Using BASIS software, Caixa has developed an online media library of texts, images and sounds devoted to contemporary art and music from all periods. The media collection serves as a cultural encouragement center and document management repository through which the organization offers library services to visitors and partners.

Business Application
Winner: BP

BP adopted Livelink to support its internal guidance methodology for managing high value capital expenditure projects, such as the drilling of a new well. Playing a significant role in optimizing project results, the Livelink solution has improved visibility of project deadlines and risk management processes.

Winner: Flemish Government
In order to stimulate the use of qualitative business advice by small and mid-sized companies, the Flemish Government developed an online program for acquiring external know-how at reduced costs through business consultancy cheques . The entire administrative process from subscription, verification and validation with external business administrative repositories up to the actual placing of the print order for the cheques is automated through Livelink.

Centrinity FirstClass Solution
Winner: The Open University

Offering distance learning to around 200,000 part-time students, The Open University uses FirstClass to provide an infrastructure for tutors and students to share information and resources in a secure and user-friendly environment. The FirstClass online learning community improves student-student and student-tutor communication, reduces isolation, and aids learning through discussion and debate.

Winner: eXpanded Media

Livelink plays a key role in our total solution offering to the market, with various application areas. We owe this LiveLinkUp Award especially to our succesful integrations with Selor, the Flemish Government and Umicore. At Selor we implemented a competence management system for 30,000 employees, based on Livelink. Within Umicore we developed a knowledge management system within the Research & Development department worldwide with Livelink.
