Open Text and Ricoh Corporation Offer Integration

Gives Users Touch-Screen Access to Livelink from Copiers, Faxes, Other Devices

Chicago, IL, and West Caldwell, NJ - 2003-03-18 - Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSX: OTC), provider of Livelink®, the leading collaboration and knowledge management software for the global enterprise, and Ricoh Corporation, the Dependable Digital output company, announced today that they will offer an integration that will link a company's knowledge repository in Livelink to Ricoh devices across an enterprise. The solution will improve knowledge sharing and information access for customers, and provide another way companies can feed information in to their knowledge management systems.

As part of their efforts to offer the software integration, the companies also announced that Ricoh, and subsidiaries Lanier, Savin and Gestetner, have joined Open Text's Affinity Partner Program.

The integration between Ricoh's Global Scan software and Livelink will allow users to navigate information in a Livelink knowledge repository via a touch screen on Ricoh Multifunction Products, which print, scan, copy and fax documents. Users will be able to send documents from the Livelink repository to a networked Ricoh device for printing, copying or fax. They will also be able to scan documents from the Ricoh device into the Livelink repository.

"The integration we're offering with Ricoh makes it easier for customers to extend access to Livelink beyond the desktop," said Bill Forquer, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Open Text. "This is an important capability to offer because it supports Livelink's position as a center for knowledge sharing and collaboration in an organization. Customers have a new way to access, use and add information to their Livelink repository, and can gain even more value from their Ricoh devices by linking them to the organization's knowledge management system."

"With Livelink, Ricoh's products can seamlessly integrate paper documents into electronic form, giving customers new and easy ways to input, store and output these documents," said Wayne Mize, Vice President of Ricoh's Technology Solutions Center. "Ricoh is excited to be joining Open Text's Affinity Partner Program because it aligns with our goal of providing quality software solutions and enhancing productivity for the end-user."

As part of the partnership, Open Text and Ricoh will market the new integration. The companies will be demonstrating the integrated capabilities at the AIIM 2003 conference, April 7-9, at the Ricoh booth, #2235. Customers can buy the solution from Ricoh and its subsidiaries.
