Open Text Introduces Livelink 8.1

Integrated group scheduling and enhanced search capabilities provide building blocks for organizations to move toward HyperInnovation

Atlanta, GA - 1999-04-13 - Open Text Corporation (NASDAQ:OTEX; TSE:OTC), today introduced Livelink® 8.1, the latest version of its award-winning knowledge management software. Livelink 8.1 extends an organization's ability to effectively manage corporate knowledge and promote collaboration, encouraging and accelerating innovation across the enterprise.

The addition of project calendars, directory synchronization and Microsoft BackOffice certification, along with advances in the traditional technologies such as compound document support, gives Livelink users and administrators unique benefits, particularly in dynamic, global companies.

Livelink 8.1 significantly broadens the collaboration capabilities of Livelink projects with the addition of the Livelink OnTime module. Livelink OnTime adds project and personal calendar capabilities to Livelink, enabling Livelink users to keep track of critical project milestones and schedule activities with full knowledge of each participants' calendar, coordinate their time, and quickly turn ideas into implementation.

With this release, compound document check-in and check-out capabilities become a single-step process, thus helping the management of very complex documents. In addition, Livelink 8.1 includes updates to the Livelink SDK, as well as improved developer documentation and online help.
