Open Text Achieves Major Milestone: Surpasses 5 Million Livelink Users Worldwide

Waterloo, ON - 2001-07-05 - Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX; TSE: OTC), a worldwide leader in collaborative commerce software for e-business, today announced a major milestone demonstrating the continued adoption of its flagship product Livelink® as the collaborative commerce solution platform of choice among enterprises worldwide. Open Text has surpassed 5 million installed Livelink users worldwide, representing more than 4,500 enterprise customers across some of the fastest growing markets for collaborative applications, including financial services, telecommunication, construction, aerospace, military and others.

- Open Text has a big jump on the competition based on Livelink sales outside North America that represent nearly 40% of worldwide sales in 2000.

- The market for team collaboration applications in terms of revenue will more than quadruple in size by 2005.
