Open Text's Annual General Meeting to be a Hands-On Multi-Media Event

Senior Management Team to Present Future Vision for the Company

Waterloo, ON - 2000-12-01 - Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq:OTEX) (TSE:OTC), a worldwide leader in collaborative commerce software for e-business, today announced that the Company's Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be a hands-on multi-media event.

Open Text's AGM will take place on Thursday, December 14, 2000 in the TSE Conference Centre Auditorium in Toronto, Canada.

Beginning at 8:45 am, guests will be invited to browse the kiosks, participate in demonstrations, and enjoy a catered breakfast. The AGM will convene at 10:00 am; to be followed by catered lunch, presentations, demonstrations, as well as direct access to Open Text's management team. The AGM will provide Open Text with a valuable opportunity to convey the Company's forward looking strategies for growth and profitability. The multi-media event will feature a hands-on environment, including product presentations and demonstrations. Presentations will focus on b2bScene and Livelink® 9.

The Company's worldwide executive team will be on hand for one-on-one discussions as well as formal presentations. Scheduled speakers include John Shackleton, President; Alan Hoverd, Chief Financial Officer; Andrew Pery, Vice President of Global Marketing; Anik Ganguly, Executive Vice President of Products; and Tom Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer.
