Open Text and ActionPoint Drive Collaborative CRM and SCM Solutions For Michigan Gaming Control Board
Enterprise wide deployment helps meet auditing and compliance regulations
Waterloo, ON - 2000-11-30 - Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq:OTEX) (TSE:OTC), a worldwide leader in collaborative commerce solutions for e-business, today announced that the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has deployed a joint Open Text and ActionPoint (Nasdaq:ACTP) solution enterprise wide.
Developed by Xerox Connect, the comprehensive collaborative commerce solution drives customer relationship management (CRM) and supply chain management (SCM) for MGCB.
MGCB licenses and regulates the conduct of private commercial casino gaming and oversees Native American casino operations in the state of Michigan. Requiring a solution that will help facilitate its government reporting responsibilities, MGCB has combined Livelink's(R) collaboration, workflow, search and retrieval features with Dialog Server's intelligent, dynamic Web interface. MGCB's enterprise wide solution:
- Facilitates compliance with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) (under FOIA guidelines citizens can access and review current gaming operations information)
- Automates the capture of data for financial earnings reports and tax returns for auditing purposes
- Offers casinos and gaming control offices a single point of access to customer and constituent data
- Allows casino employees, suppliers and vendors to enter and update application information online and in real-time
According to Dave Kurt, Solutions Architect, Xerox Connect, "Open Text and ActionPoint applications are included in the broad portfolio of `proven technologies' we need to build world class e-business solutions. The unique architecture of both Livelink and Dialog Server has enabled us to integrate the two applications to deliver a single interface solution that will manage, validate, organize and store MGCB's confidential business critical information."
"MGCB required a simple, viable method of capturing large volumes of both electronic and paper-based data via the Web," said Nancy Horton, Deputy Director, Michigan Gaming Control Board. "The beauty of the Livelink/Dialog Server solution is that it enables MGCB to streamline administrative processing of employee applications, tax returns and supplier licenses by capturing, storing and organizing knowledge in a very structured and secure manner."
"MGCB has deployed an innovative enterprise wide solution that is extended to include casino employees, gaming control offices, federal agents, travelling inspectors, suppliers, vendors, and the general public," said Andrew Pery, Vice President of Global Marketing, Open Text. "Livelink and Dialog Server improve customer relationship management and supply chain management by facilitating secure access to auditing information, licensing, contract and application status, as well as information about public funds requested under the Freedom of Information Act."
This announcement follows the formation of a strategic alliance between Open Text and ActionPoint designed to integrate Open Text's Livelink with ActionPoint's Dialog Server.
