ASP Industry Consortium Chooses b2bScene For Collaborative Application Hosting

ASP Consortium to Use b2bScene for Internal Collaboration and External Member Community Services

Waterloo, ON - 2000-08-29 - b2bScene , the premier online service provider of e-business community platform solutions and a Division of Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX, TSE: OTC), today announced it has been chosen to host the collaboration system for the ASP Industry Consortium, an industry association of more than 625 companies in 22 countries, formed to promote the application service provider industry.

The Consortium will use b2bScene's e-Business Community Platform to promote collaboration amongst its internal committee representatives, and to extend information and membership resources to its external member community. b2bScene will deliver a secure hosted intranet and extranet for the Consortium, tightly integrated within a personalized portal interface.

The system will allow Consortium directors and committees to collaborate on initiatives and policies with on-the-fly project teams, document management, discussions, task lists, group scheduling, and other collaborative applications. The Consortium's executive and associate members will benefit from an environment that allows them to work closely with Consortium staff and other members, and have instant access to information about policies, best practices, industry news and events.

"As associations like the ASP Industry Consortium expand and strengthen their memberships, the need to share information and stimulate interaction becomes critical to success," said Dan Latendre, Vice President of Business Development & Marketing, b2bScene. "b2bScene has designed its e-Business Community Platform to deliver specific solutions for an association's member relations as well as its own internal operations. The Consortium's choice of b2bScene provides the highest endorsement of our platform."

"b2bScene s hosted services are quickly establishing a new paradigm in e-communities," said John Balla, Research Director with e-Business industry analyst firm Doculabs. "The ASP Industry Consortium selection of b2bScene is a clear indicator that b2bScene s collaborative technology provides world-class functionality that is highly secure. As e-businesses continue to develop to serve global organizations, companies such as Open Text with b2bScene are offering very compelling solutions."
