Computerworld Names Open Text One of Emerging Companies to Watch in 2000

To qualify for this listing, companies must have experienced at least a 50% growth over the past two years, and have earned either $1 million in revenue, or received $5 million in financing. Computerworld s expert panel of judges, comprised of corporate IT executives and leading industry analysts from Yankee Group and IDC, evaluated 560 nominated companies. The top 100 organizations were chosen after an extensive review of the products and services offered.

The nomination date of May 1999 followed Open Text reporting record revenues for its third quarter fiscal 1999 ending March 31, 1999. For the thirteenth consecutive quarter, Open Text reported the highest quarterly total revenues in the company's history. Total revenues for the third quarter fiscal 1999 were US$25.0 million, up 112% from the $11.7 million reported for the year-earlier period.

In a similar recognition on September 15th 1999, after having experienced 2685.58 percent revenue growth over the past five years, Open Text ranked 10th overall in the 1999 Canadian Technology Fast 50, an annual ranking by Deloitte & Touche of the 50 fastest growing companies in Canada based on the percentage of growth from 1994 to 1998.
