Ontario Court Finds in Favour Of Open Text in NetSys Lawsuit

Waterloo, ON - 1999-08-03 - Open Text Corporation (NASDAQ:OTEX; TSE:OTC) today announced a court victory with the dismissal of the $170 million CDN lawsuit filed in Ontario Court by NetSys Technology Group of Sweden. The Court s ruling found in favour of Open Text Corporation, and ordered NetSys to pay Open Text s costs in association with the filing of the lawsuit.

"Open Text has always maintained that there was no merit to the NetSys lawsuit," says Tom Jenkins, chief executive officer of Open Text. "We are pleased the Court s ruling supports this position."

Open Text has been engaged in a dispute with the NetSys Technology Group, which distributed Open Text products in Scandinavia. NetSys filed $170 million CDN lawsuit in Ontario against Open Text Corporation on February 4, 1999.
